Das Sprachniveau B2 nach dem Gemeinsamen Europäischen Referenzrahmen (GER) bildet die zweite Stufe der selbständigen Sprachverwendung. Es ist in verschiedenen Berufsfeldern faktische oder gar gesetzliche Voraussetzung, um eine entsprechende Tätigkeit aufnehmen zu können. So werden beispielsweise für die Berufe wie Krankenschwester/-plfeger oder Altenpfleger/innen Deutschkenntnisse auf der Niveaustufe B2 des GER verlangt. Die Fachwelt ist sich allerdings darüber einig, dass Deutschkenntnisse mindestens auf dem Niveau B2 unabhängig von der jeweiligen Branche sowohl für die Aufnahme einer qualifizierten Tätigkeit als auch einer Berufsausbildung notwendig sind.
