African American dramatists have often used theatrical productions to explore themes such as alienation, love, feminism, rage, sexism, classism, racism and a desire to assimilate into American culture.
We will study the works of such illustrious writers such as, Lorraine Hansberry, Amiri Baraka (LeRoi Jones) & Ntozake Shange amongst others.
